As pioneers in new energy applications, solar carports not only provide practical functions like shade and rain protection for vehicles but also transform ordinary parking lots into green energy production bases through the ingenious design of “power generation on the roof, parking underneath.” This makes them an ideal choice for enterprises to practice sustainable development and enhance their social image. Below, we analyze the core advantages of solar carports from five key dimensions:
I. Clean Energy, Driving Low-Carbon Transition
Utilizing high-efficiency monocrystalline or polycrystalline silicon solar panels, photovoltaic carports directly convert sunlight into electricity, delivering “zero-emission” power supply. A medium-sized carport, for instance, can generate 100,000 to 300,000 kWh annually—equivalent to reducing standard coal consumption by approximately 30 to 90 tons and lowering carbon dioxide emissions by about 80 to 240 tons. Enterprises can optimize their energy structure and reduce reliance on traditional grids through self-generation and self-consumption with surplus power fed into the grid. Simultaneously, they benefit from national renewable energy subsidies, achieving a win-win outcome for both economic and environmental gains.
II. Space Reuse, Enhancing Land Value
Traditional parking lots serve only a single parking function. Photovoltaic carports, however, transform idle rooftop or ground space into high-value assets through a three-dimensional design that combines “power generation above and parking below.” Calculations show that a 10,000-square-meter photovoltaic carport can accommodate approximately 1 MW of solar panels, generating over one million yuan in annual electricity revenue while providing parking for 200-400 vehicles. This dual-purpose model is particularly suited for land-constrained settings like industrial parks, commercial complexes, and transportation hubs, significantly boosting comprehensive land utilization.
